Tell me what doesn't happen in our society behind closed doors, in hidden. People know how to handle and hide. Aamir Laiquat does it openly. He is he. You are free to call him whatever you want to. You are free to ridicule him on social media or in your drawing room. Each to their own. His problem is that he is public figure who miscalculated the Pakistani woman, general public and social media.
Being yourself is a not norm in polarized, hypothetic, communist style societies like Pakistan that is why he is so difficult to understand and digest. Public is not that tolerating and especially after the free access of Social Media, everyone believes that his opinion is final truth. They have fixed ideas and philosophy of life and wants everyone to be exactly like them.
We need to understand this fist to solve the case of Aamir Laiquat and alike.
He is in trouble because of his marriages, right? His latest statement is that he is leaving Pakistan. There is a letter to his children too. If this is the issue than there are many who have married more than once. Well, marriage in Pakistan, despite being a Muslim majority country with Islam as an official religion, the concept of polygamy is still a matter of shock. The concept of individualism is unacceptable. No one knows the phrase of each to their own and live in peace.
Unfortunately, when men grow out of relationships/marriage, our women become ultimate victims in Pakistan. There were few tweets from her daughter as well in the start which were not in good taste.
Marriage is solution for many problems in Pakistan. Women have always been financially and socially depended on their parents before marriage, and later on husbands after marriage. Her life is just her parents home, and then her husband home. She is groomed to be wife. Man too. Every thing else general people do is calculated and in safe environment. You may not find authentic weirdo, crazy, eccentric, individuals around. No one wants to get killed.
If a man wants to move on in a relationship, a sane and wise woman should ask for separation right there and let that man to be with whoever he wants to be with, vice versa. It is disrespecting one self to be with those who are no more interested in you. This goes for man and woman both.
His biggest problem is that he doesn't understand his own family and social media; He responses. First thing should have been done was to settle his family with peace when he was about to marry his second wife. Divorce, separation or second marriage is nothing illegal nor something out of this world. Of course, it is hard for the people who go through it and devastating for their children. However, his first wife's role was to calm down his children instated becoming a victim. Children of such family need lots of counseling. Only parents can help them to understand. We outsiders can only assume.
World has evolved. People are making peace with new forms of families.
If one person wants to move out (for whatever reason), grace is to let him/her go. Being victim can only help you to gain sympathy. That person is gone forever.
Fast forwarded, What Dania Shah, his third wife did is criminal. Aamir Liaquat should sue her and get her arrested for giving out their private videos to social media. God forbid, what if this can become a norm of posting private videos of husband and wife after conflict? Forgiving this low act means it is OK. FIA, should intervene, this is a crime.
